Dar es Salaam. Three prominent golfers will represent Tanzania in the upcoming All Africa Challenge Trophy, scheduled to tee off this November in Agadir, Morocco.

The golfers are Madina Idd and Neema Olomi from Arusha Gymkhana Club, along with Hawa Wanyeche from Lugalo, as announced by Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) President Queen Siraki.

Siraki revealed that the three national team golfers have excelled in various competitions, earning their place to represent the country in this prestigious event, which will feature competitors from different African countries.

“All three golfers have experience in the competition, and we are now in the initial stages of preparation ahead of the event. We are currently looking for sponsors to support the team in travelling and competing in the tournament,” Siraki stated.

The tournament is scheduled for November 28 to 30 at the Tazegzout Golf Course, a venue known for its challenging layout and scenic views.

Siraki emphasised that the selection of the national team golfers was based on their performance in several recent events, where they accumulated the highest points.

“We have established criteria for selecting our national team golfers. This time, we have chosen three players who have recorded the best results in several events to garner many points,” she explained.

She stressed the importance of thorough preparations to ensure the team achieves the best possible results in Morocco.

“Our goal is to achieve the best possible result in the tournament. In the last edition held at Tanzania’s Gymkhana Golf Course, our team finished third. This time, we are aiming for the top position,” Siraki added.

In the previous edition of the All Africa Challenge Trophy, Tanzania’s team, composed of Hawa Wanyeche, Madina Idd, and Angel Eaton (now turned professional), posted a closing round score of 153 gross, bringing their total to 455.
