Dar es Salaam. The Lugalo Golf Club will spring to life tomorrow, July 17, as Tanzania hosts another exciting edition of the Lina PG Tour, drawing some of the region’s most prominent professional golfers and elite amateurs to the capital for a celebration of sport, skill, and mentorship.
According to the official draw released on Wednesday, ten competitive groups will tee off starting from 8:00 a.m., featuring an exciting mix of seasoned pros and emerging amateur talents.
The field includes top names such as Athuman Chiundu, Idd Mzaki, Salim Dilunga, Angel Eaton, Nuru Mollel, and Fadhyl Nkya, all expected to bring high-level competition to Lugalo’s challenging and scenic fairways.
Each professional will be paired with elite amateurs or promising local players in a format designed to foster mentorship while ensuring competitive balance.
Group 1 will see Chiundu (Pro) teeing off alongside P. Bonzo and Z. Edwards, while from Hole 10, H. Ally (Pro) leads a group that includes A. Issa and Enock Magile.
This pairing structure lies at the heart of the Lina PG Tour’s mission — not only to test skill but also to inspire and develop upcoming golfers through direct interaction with professionals.
Also featured in the draw are players such as J. Helela, Hassan Kadio, and David Helela, who represent local hopes, while experienced pros like F. Chitengwa and Richard Mtweve will be out to reinforce their dominance.
With tee times spaced ten minutes apart, the action is expected to run seamlessly through the morning, promising continuous entertainment for fans.
This year’s event carries the theme “Journey to Your Dream,” reflecting the Tour’s role in bridging amateur and professional golf.

Lina PG Tour Director Yasmin Chali described the event as not just a competition but a key opportunity to sharpen skills, promote camaraderie, and raise awareness of golf as a viable career for Tanzanian youth.
Held in memory of the late Lina Said Nkya, affectionately known as the “Mother Golfer”, the tournament also carries deep emotional significance. Lina, who passed away in 2021, was instrumental in transforming the Kobe Golf Tournament into a national fixture during her 11 years of passionate involvement.
