Yanga fans start securing membership cards via NMB Bank

  • Last week, Yanga and NMB Bank signed a two-year contract under which any fan or supporter of the club can secure a membership card through the bank’s branches spread across the country.

Dar es Salaam. NMB Bank and Young Africans (Yanga) management have requested the team’s followers to renew their memberships by enrolling through the launched modern service.

The call has been made by NMB Bank’s Head of Branch Network and Retail Sales, Donatus Richard when unveiling the service at the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) grounds.

Last week, Yanga and NMB Bank signed a two-year contract under which any fan or supporter of the club can secure a membership card through the bank’s branches spread across the country.

The aim of the agreement is to increase the number of the club’s members and fans as well as provide them with financial solutions through their cards, which the bank will start to issue from today.

All NMB Bank branches in the country will provide the services that is going to stamp a big mark in the Tanzanian sports industry and change the system as well as financial attitudes for football fans through digital services such as NMB Mkononi that includes cheap loans with no conditions of Mshiko Fasta.

“We thank Yanga’s leadership for giving us the opportunity to serve the largest group of stakeholders. We urge all the bank’s branches to register the club supporters and provide with their cards from today onwards, and we promise them a great success,” said Richard.

Through the services, each supporter or fan wanting to become a member of the club will have to pay Sh34, 000 as an annual fee and the card payment, while an non-member will pay Sh22,000 for the same.

The new Yanga’s membership card will work just like any other cards of the NMB Bank, including making transactions, depositing money, using ATMs, making online payments, and benefiting from various discounts.

Richard said that the bank branches will provides quality services aiming at enrolling many members.

"We real proud to associate with Yanga in facilitating memberships and fans registration,” he said.

For his part, Yanga president Hersi Saidi called on the club’s supporters to use the service to be official member of the team.

“Let me assure our supporters and fans alike that all the club challenges and other problems are going to be addressed under this agreement with the NMB, Bank through their branches and their agents found all over the country,” he said.

Through the service, Yanga expect to register more than eight million members.
