Dar es Salaam. Young Africans SC (Yanga) today February 17, 2024 seek another victory in the ongoing Mainland Tanzania Premier league as they face Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC).

The game will take place at the Jamhuri Stadium in Morogoro, where KMC will also be seeking to revenge over a 5-1 loss to the Jangwani Street giants when they clashed at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam on August 23, 2023.

KMC have decided to choose the Morogoro venue as their home ground as per the rules and regulations governing the league. Apart from seeking revenge, KMC will likely target to end Yanga’s winning run in the league featuring 16 teams.

Yanga have so far played 15 matches and won 13 while drawing once and losing once to top the league standings after collecting 40 points.

KMC are placed fifth with 22 points from 15 matches respectively.

The record shows that in seven league matches, Yanga managed to dominate KMC by winning four matches, drawing twice and losing one. Today’s encounter is likely to be tough due to the fact that both teams will be targeting to collect the maximum three points.

Yanga head coach Miguel Gamondi said he wants to see his team maintain the winning streak in order to continue to dominate the top position in the league standings.

He said they are optimistic about coming out with a good result in the match, despite KMC being one of the tough teams in the league.

“We target to record victories in the league matches in order to retain the title, it is going to be a tough game, but my players are in high morale and ready for the challenge,

“KMC are a strong team in the league, despite their previous results. They have talented players, but we are going to show our prowess against them,” he said.

KMC coach Abdihamid Moalim said they are in good shape for the match and are ready to deliver a good result.
