Dar es Salaam. Mainland giants Young Africans have reported South Africa’s Mpumalanga Black Aces to the world soccer governing body (Fifa) over non-payment of striker Kpah Sherman’s transfer fee.

Yanga secretary general Jonas Tiboroha told The Citizen yesterday that, Black Aces reached an agreement with the Jangwani Street club that they would pay the $35,000 (about Sh75 million) transfer fee a few days after acquiring the services of the Liberian forward.

Tiboroha said the South Africa club has failed to fulfill that agreement, as they have not paid even a single penny to Yanga to-date, forcing the Jangwani Street club to decide to present the matter to Fifa.

“Our decision to seek Fifa intervention has been necessitated by their (Black Aces’) failure to honour the agreement. They were to pay the fee a couple of months ago,” said Tiboroha.

Sherman penned a three-year contract with Black Aces in August, this year, following a spell with the Mainland champions.

Shortly after recruiting the player, Black Aces chairman Mario Morfou, was quoted as saying from South Africa that he was confident the Liberian international would link up well with Zambian forward Collins Mbesuma.

“He’s an excellent player and arguably one of the best players we have ever signed and, yes, we are relieved to finally be able to formally welcome him to AmaZayoni,” Morfou said on the club’s website.

“He will be an ideal partner upfront with Collins Mbesuma and I’m confident he will be amongst the top goal scorers in the League this season,” he added.

Sherman met up with his new teammates shortly after signing the contract, and said he felt happy at the Absa Premiership outfit.

“It’s a beautiful country and I’m very impressed with what I’ve seen and heard on Black Aces and have been warmly welcomed,” Sherman, who also features for Liberia’s Lone Stars, said.

“I’m very keen to try and establish myself in the team and am also looking forward to meeting the fans and visiting the communities as part of Aces programmes,” he added.
