Veteran comedian Amri Athumani aka King Majuto is set to be laid to rest today at his ancestral home in Tanga after he took his last breath on Wednesday night at Muhimbili National Hospital.

Mourners yesterday paid their last respects to the comedian at Karimjee Hall before the body was transported to his native home in Tanga where he had relocated for the past year.
The actor had been in and out of the hospital and at one point he was forced to seek specialized treatment in India where he spent 50 days. His treatment was funded by President John Magufuli.
At some point last year there were rumors that he had passed on, one that ended up being some crazy fake news.
On July 31 his condition worsened prompting to be admitted at Muhimbili again where he remained until his death on Wednesday night.

He also featured in Mtego wa Panya, Boss, Back with Tears, Sikukuu ya Wajinga, Nyumba Nne, Chips Kuku, Kitu Bomba, Ndoto ya Tamaa, Lakuchumpa, ATM, Bishoo, Tupo Wangapi, Moto Bati and Varangati,
His continued longevity saw him deliver his creativity in Out Side, Pusi na Paku, Juu kwa Juu, Swagger, Oh Mama, Jazba, Mke wa Mtu Sumu, Mbugila, Kidumu, Mkali Mo, Mpela Mpela, Utanibeba, Babatan, Mjomba, Msela wa Manzese, Karaha, Mpango Sio Matumizi, Mume Bwege, Shuga Mammy, and Embe Dodo.

History
Early last year the comedian ended his illustrious career in the entertainment industry saying he was going to serve his God.
Majuto, 70, served in the Tanzania Peoples Defence Forces and a fireman for over 20 years started his career in the 1980s while with the Ports authority in Tanga.
But his breakthrough came at DDC Kibisa in 1983; he later joined Muungano Cultural Troupe before heading to Nairobi with his own cultural troupe.
His travels later took him to Tanzania One Theatre where he worked with the late Captain John Komba.
