Precision Air plane wreckage pulled out of water
The wreckage of the ill-fated Precision plane that plunged into Lake Victoria on Sunday, November 6, has finally been pulled out the water today, November 8.
Earlier attempts by fishermen and rescuers to pull the aircraft from the water bore no fruit for the past two days.
The footage that The Citizen has seen shows the ATR 42-500 aircraft disjointed, with the lower part of the front area completely destroyed, something that aviation experts attribute to impact of crash landing.
The nose landing gear is folded and the left landing gear is also missing from the aircraft, with the only the right landing gear which is partly intact.
Preliminary observations shows that the plane hit the lake’s surface while making the emergence landing with the entire bottom completely destroyed, something that could have equally contributed to the fatalities.
According to the plan the Plane for now will be resting a few meters away from the runway of the Bukoba Airport which was some 500 meters from the scene of the crash.
The plane is irreparably ruined and there are no signs that it can ever be salvaged to life.
Earlier reports say that investigators from France were on their way to help with investigations on what exactly led to the tragic accident that left 19 people dead including the two pilots.
