TECNO unveils CAMON 40 series in Tanzania, showcasing AI-Powered imaging innovation

Dar es Salaam. TECNO Mobile has officially launched its latest flagship smartphone lineup, the CAMON 40 Series, in Tanzania—marking a significant leap in mobile photography and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities tailored for users in emerging markets.

Unveiled during a colorful event in Dar es Salaam, the CAMON 40 Series includes three models: CAMON 40 Premier 5G, CAMON 40 Pro, and the standard CAMON 40. The launch event attracted tech enthusiasts, celebrities, telecom partners, and influencers from across the country.

Speaking at the event, TECNO’s official trainer, Jackline Saigero, said the new devices are designed to combine cutting-edge AI features with advanced imaging technology to enhance creativity, efficiency, and the overall smartphone experience.

“The CAMON 40 Series introduces FlashSnap, a revolutionary AI-driven photography feature that uses a dedicated One-Tap Button and smart recognition to instantly capture high-quality shots—especially of subjects in motion,” said Saigero.

One of the most eye-catching features of the CAMON 40 Premier 5G is its 50MP Sony LYT-701 Ultra Night Camera, which captures over 56 percent more light than many competitors, delivering crystal-clear shots even in low-light environments. The camera’s shutter speed is also supercharged—operating 2,600 times faster than the blink of a human eye.

A Tanzania-exclusive warranty

In a bold move, TECNO announced that Tanzanian customers will receive an exclusive 36-month warranty on all CAMON 40 Series purchases—the first and only market worldwide to benefit from such extended coverage.

“This is a major win for Tanzanian consumers,” added Saigero. “It shows our commitment to offering not just innovation, but also peace of mind.”

The CAMON 40 Premier 5G is also the first device to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 Ultimate AI Processor, which delivers a massive 330 percent boost in AI performance, further enhancing photo quality, app responsiveness, and energy efficiency.

Design-wise, the CAMON 40 Series retains TECNO’s signature Side-axis design, while introducing a new Swan-neck Curve and a stylish Space Ring camera module with luxury watch-grade 3D textures—emphasizing its premium feel.

“The CAMON 40 Series is not just a smartphone—it’s a game-changer for AI-powered photography. It empowers users to capture life as it happens, with precision and ease,” Saigero emphasized.

Bonus internet for buyers

Adding more value for early adopters, YAS (formerly Tigo) announced a special offer: anyone who purchases the CAMON 40 Series will receive up to 96GB of free internet data—spread over 12 months.

The launch event was attended by popular Tanzanian personalities including actors, comedians, and representatives of leading football clubs Simba SC and Yanga SC, adding star power to the tech-driven occasion.

As TECNO continues to gain traction in Tanzania’s competitive smartphone market, the CAMON 40 Series is poised to redefine what users expect from a mid-range flagship—by putting powerful AI, premium design, and unparalleled camera tech in the hands of everyday consumers.
