Watumishi wins developer of the year award

Dar es Salaam. Watumishi Housing Investment (WHI) has emerged as the winner of the Property Developer of the Year 2023 Award under the Government Agency category, an event organised by Africa Company of The Year Awards (ACOYA).

Speaking to The Citizen, WHI Head of Communications, Ms Maryjane Makawia, said winning the award holds significant meaning for the company.

"It shows that WHI has been recognised as a top performer in the property development sector among other prominent companies in Africa," she said.

Ms Makawia said the achievement validates the efforts, expertise, and commitment to delivering high-quality housing projects and services.

"Receiving this prestigious award will enhance WHI’s reputation and credibility in the industry, potentially attracting more clients and investors. It may also boost the morale and motivation of our employees, inspiring them to continue striving for excellence," she said.

She added that overall, the award serves as a testament to WHI's excellence and will open up new opportunities for growth and success in the future.

WHI has built over 1000 affordable housing units that have been sold and leased to public servants and members of pension funds.

At the moment, WHI has projects in Dodoma, Mwanza, Dar es Salaam, Arusha, and Morogoro. And new upcoming projects will be in Kawe and Mikocheni Regent Estate, which will comprise apartments whose price range will be 45m to 190m.
