Dar es Salaam. Tanzanian football giants Simba SC have secured a spot in the knockout stage of the CAF Champions League after a remarkable 6-0 victory over Botswana's Jwaneng Galaxy in Dar es Salaam.

With this resounding win, Simba finished second in Group B with 9 points, trailing behind the group leader, Asec Mimosa from Ivory Coast.

Entering the final group match, Simba needed a victory to advance to the next stage, and they delivered in spectacular fashion in front of their passionate home crowd in Dar es Salaam. Goals from Ntibazonkiza, Jobe, Denis, Chama, Chasambi, and Ngoma contributed to the comprehensive victory, with Ngoma sealing the rout in the 89th minute.

Despite having the same number of points as Simba, one of the tournament favorites, Morocco's Wydad Athletics, has been eliminated from the competition after finishing third in Group B due to Simba's superior goal difference.

Simba's progression to the knockout stage means that they will join Yanga as representatives of Tanzania and East Africa in the continental competition.
