Yanga tops revenue table with Sh6.6 billion haul, outshining rivals

Dar es Salaam. Football giants Young Africans (Yanga) have pocketed Sh6.6 billion from the recently concluded Mainland Tanzania Premier League and CAF Champions League bonuses.
This amount is substantial compared to other teams that competed in the Mainland Tanzania NBC Premier League, CRDB Federation Cup, and the CAF Champions League.
The Jangwani Street giants will receive not less than Sh100 million from the league's main sponsor, NBC Bank.
They also won not less than Sh500 million sponsorship bonus from Azam Media Limited and not less than Sh50 million after winning the CRDB Federation Cup.
Additionally, the team received Sh3.1 billion from Azam Media Limited as part of their 10-year deal.
The crowned champions will also pocket Sh150 million from their main sponsor, SportPesa Tanzania.
Apart from that, there are other bonuses totaling Sh177 million, making a total of Sh4.2 billion. In the CAF Champions League, Yanga received $900,000 (Sh2.4 billion) after qualifying for the quarterfinals in this edition of the CAF Champions League to make a total of Sh6.6 billion.
Records show that Azam FC, who placed second, pocketed Sh50 million from the NBC Premier League and Sh255 million bonus from Azam Media Limited.
Azam also received Sh30 million after finishing second in the special Union League competitions. In total, Azam FC, who placed second in both the Mainland League and CRDB Federation Cup, will pocket Sh335 million.
Azam FC did not earn anything from the CAF Confederation Cup competition as they were eliminated in the early stage. The amount could increase if there is a second prize for the CRDB Federation Cup.
Simba, despite finishing third, have pocketed significant amounts compared to Azam FC, who placed second.
Simba received Sh30 million from the Mainland Tanzania Premier League and a Sh225 million bonus from Azam Media Limited.
Simba also received Sh50 million from their main sponsor, betting firm M-Bet Tanzania, after qualifying for the group stage of the CAF Champions League, and later an additional Sh100 million for reaching the quarterfinals.
The Msimbazi Street giants were also awarded Sh50 million for winning the Union League, making a total of Sh2.8 billion.
The fourth-placed team, Coastal Union, received only Sh200 million from the Azam Television bonus. Simba and Coastal Union will represent the country in the next edition of the CAF Confederation Cup.
