Dar es Salaam. Moroccan football giants Wydad Athletic Club are reportedly still targeting two prominent players from Young Africans (Yanga), Clement Mzize and Stephane Aziz Ki.

A report from The Citizen states that Wydad's head coach, Rulani Mokwena, who previously managed Mamelodi Sundowns, has included both Mzize and Aziz Ki in his list of four key players to recruit for the upcoming season. However, both players are still under contract with Yanga, leaving the door open for potential negotiations.

Mokwena spoke to the Moroccan publication Le360 Sport, emphasizing the substantial impact Mzize and Aziz Ki have had on their team.

Mokwena believes that the duo’s addition could significantly strengthen Wydad's squad as they look to bolster their ranks for the new season.

Mzize, in particular, has been a standout performer on the continental stage. The 20-year-old has made his mark in Yanga's CAF Champions League campaign, scoring four goals.

His impressive performances have caught the attention of top clubs across Africa, and he has become one of the most talked-about players in the region.

A senior Yanga official confirmed to The Citizen that several clubs, both within Africa and internationally, have shown interest in Mzize ahead of the upcoming season. However, the official clarified that Yanga has yet to make any public statements on the matter for several reasons.

“There are many clubs targeting Mzize and other players, but Yanga has not made any official announcements because we haven’t received formal offers,” the official said.

“We are hearing the same rumors. Yanga will consider selling players if clubs meet our asking price, but currently, there have been no official applications—just hearsay. Football is the players' profession, and we are waiting to hear from them. When the best offers come, we will consider them.”

Yanga seem to be taking a cautious approach, only willing to entertain official offers rather than speculation.

The club is focused on evaluating the best opportunities for its players while maintaining silence on the matter for now.
