Coaches forecast stellar season as Yanga introduce midfielder Chama

What you need to know:

  • Chama has signed a one-year contract with the Jangwani Street giants for the upcoming season, ending weeks of speculation about his next move after leaving Simba.

Dar es Salaam. The transfer drama involving talented midfielder Clatous Chama, whose contract with Simba has ended, was finally resolved yesterday when Yanga officially introduced him.

Chama has signed a one-year contract with the Jangwani Street giants for the upcoming season, ending weeks of speculation about his next move after leaving Simba.

Yanga announced Chama's signing through their social media accounts, sharing a photo of him signing the club's contract following his departure from Simba.

The move received mixed reactions on social media, with some Simba fans expressing disappointment over his departure while others congratulated him on joining Yanga.

Several coaches have praised the signing, predicting that Yanga, the current champions of the Tanzania Mainland, will perform even better in the NBC Premier League, the CRDB Federation Cup, and the CAF Champions League with Chama in their ranks.

Renowned coach Jamhuri "Julio" Kihwelu highlighted Chama's potential to excel at Yanga, emphasizing that despite various issues he faced at Simba, including disciplinary matters and personal challenges, Chama remains a player who significantly contributes on the field.

"As a coach, you would love to work with Chama, and he will give you good results. Imagine, you have Chama, Pacome Zouzoua, Stephane Aziz Ki, Mudathir Yahaya, Khalid Aucho, Maxi Nzengeli, and Prince Dube. I see Yanga going far and may win the CAF Champions League title," said Kihwelu.

Former national under-17 coach Hababuu Ali Omary echoed Kihwelu's sentiments, praising Chama's versatility and ability to fit into any formation at Yanga

"The coach will have the right choice in every match and the right system. It is a good signing for the goals of domestic and international competitions as well," said Omary.

Former Yanga coach Kennedy Mwaisabula also weighed in, foreseeing that Chama, along with the expected addition of Prince Dube, will strengthen Yanga's competitiveness across various tournaments.

Overall, Chama's move to Yanga is seen as a significant boost to the club's ambitions for the upcoming season, with high expectations for success in both local and continental competitions.
