Dar es Salaam.  Miguel Gamondi, the head coach of Young Africans (Yanga), is unsure about continuing his role with the team in the upcoming season.

Gamondi, who signed a one-year contract that expires at the end of this season, has already issued a shocking statement regarding his future with the team.

"I cannot reveal my next plan with the club while I am not sure if I will be with the team," said Gamondi when explaining the team's performances after being eliminated in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals.

Despite taking Yanga to a new record of reaching the quarter-finals of the Champions League without losing any home matches, his future remains uncertain.

"Regarding plans for next season? It's still early to know whether I will be here or not," the Argentine coach stated.

However, Gamondi's contract has a clause for extension depending on the team's performances in the Mainland Tanzania Premier League, Federation Cup, and CAF competitions.

Currently, Yanga leads the Mainland Tanzania Premier League and has already secured a spot in the CRDB Bank Federation Cup top 16.

Their upcoming match against Dodoma Jiji FC on April 10, 2024, at Jamhuri Stadium in Dodoma, will determine their journey towards the quarterfinals.

Yanga, the defending champions of the Mainland Tanzania Premier League and CRDB Bank Federation Cup, face uncertainty amidst their successes.

Despite qualifying for the quarterfinals of the CAF competitions, Coach Gamondi's primary task remains making the team qualify for the CAF Champions League Group Stages. As the season progresses, the future of Yanga and their coach hangs in the balance.
