Tanga. A last minute goal by Thabani Kamusoko is all high-flying  Young Africans needed to silence hosts African in an exciting Mainland Premier League match at Mkwakwani Stadium yesterday.

The hard-earned victoty means  Yanga are now at the pilot’s seat of the 16-team league with 27 points, one ahead of their nearest challengers Azam FC.

However, Azam who were not in action yesterday, may bounce back to the top if they beat hosts Majimaji in Songea this weekend and Yanga lose to  Stand United of Shinyanga.

Yanga, needing a win to wrest the league leadership from the ice cream makers, had to wait until a few seconds to time when Kamusoko beat the hosts’ goalkeeper with a tricky shot off a pass by Donald Ngoma.

On Saturday, Azam will be seeking a win to leapfrog Yanga while the title-holders will be fighting to consolidate their lead at the top of the table.

The day will also see Simba, now on  22 points, conferont struggling Toto Africans at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza, while Mwadui of Shinyanga will welcome Ndanda of Mtwara.

African Sports will swing back into action against Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium inn Bukoba.

Tanzania Prisons will have a tricky task against Morogoro’s Mtibwa Sugar in Mbeya.
