President Samia sponsors Simba’s trip to South Africa

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania president, Samia Suluhu Hassan, has offered full support to Simba Sports Club by covering their travel expenses to South Africa as well as accommodation during their stay. This assistance comes as the team prepares for the return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final against Stellenbosch, scheduled for April 27, 2025.

The first leg of the semi-final, held at New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar, ended with Simba securing a 1-0 victory.

Confirming the President’s support, Simba’s Board Chairman, Mohammed Dewji, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the club.

"On behalf of Simba Sports Club, I wish to extend our sincere appreciation to the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Samia Suluhu Hassan, for enabling our participation in international competitions," said Dewji.

"We are grateful for the support in terms of travel and accommodation for our return leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-final against Stellenbosch."

He further acknowledged the President’s commitment to the development of sports in Tanzania, particularly football.

"President Hassan’s continued support, together with the efforts of the government, has been a great driving force behind the club’s success and the growth of Tanzanian football," Dewji noted.

He also praised the motivation brought by the "Goli la Mama" initiative, which he said has inspired players and fans alike.

"’The Goli la Mama’ has uplifted team spirit and energized our supporters," he added.
