Simba names goal keeping coach, distances its self from Muharami

Zacharia Chlouha

Simba Sports Club has named Zacharia Chlouha as the team’s goal keeping coach and is expected to be in the stands today as the Msimbazi side takes on Namungo FC at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

The unveiling of the Moroccan national came amid controversy after the team’s temporary goal keeping Coach Muharami Sultan (40) was part of the 11 people arrested for allegedly being in possession of 34.89kg of heroin on Tuesday.

The club’s hierarchy quickly distanced its self with the goalie trainer ‘Shilton’ who spent part of his playing days at Simba says he was not their employee and that he was only there for one month.

“The leadership of the Simba SC informs the public that Muharami Said Mohammed, aka Shilton, was not an employee of our club. Simba asked him and agreed with the Muharami to train our goalkeepers for one month, while the club was in search of a new goalkeeping coach, reads the club’s statement.

The club added: For that reason, the club is not involved in the allegations against the coach.  The management of Simba asks fans of the club to be calm as there is no impact on the club due to the situation.

In today’s encounter Simba will seek to reach 24 points whereas the Lindi based Namungo will be seeking to record their 18th point should they win.
