Transfer deadline day drama as big guns reshape squads

Dar es Salaam. The transfer window slammed shut with a bang on January 15th, as the league's big guns, Young Africans, Simba SC, and Azam FC, all made significant additions to their squads.

Yanga, the defending champions, known for their midnight signings, waited until the eleventh hour to unveil Ivorian striker Joseph Guede Gnadou, formerly of Tuzlaspor in Turkey.

Gnadou joins Augustine Okrah (Ghana's Bechem United) and Zanzibar's JKU star Shekhan Ibrahim Khamis as Yanga's new attacking weapons.

They also loaned out Crispin Ngushi and Hafiz Konkon while parting ways with Jesus Moloko.

Simba the Msimbazi giants, hungry to reclaim the title, closed the window with a flurry of signings.

Ivorian striker Freddy Michael Kouablan, who topped the Zambian scoring charts with Green Eagles, headlines the arrivals alongside Pa Omar Jobe (Kazakhstan's Zhenis).

Azam FC, the Ice Cream makers bolstered their attack with Franklin Navarro (Colombia's Cortulua FC), Mohamed Mustafa (Al-Merrikh, Sudan), and Yeison Fuentes (Colombia's Leones FC).

 The departure of Congolese striker Idris Mbombo (Nkana FC, Zambia) was the only notable outgoing move.
