Dar es Salaam. Lugalo Golf Club’s top lady golfer, Vicky Elias, has expressed her delight after a strong showing at the prestigious Coastal Open Golf Tournament, played across multiple courses in Mombasa and Nyali.
Competing over three consecutive days, Vicky displayed consistency, adaptability, and competitive spirit, securing top positions in each round despite challenging coastal conditions.
Her campaign teed off on August 7 at the Leisure Lodge course, where she finished seventh with a gross score of 86.
Despite tricky holes and the need to adjust to the greens, she stayed composed and focused on improving.
On August 8 at the Mombasa Front Course, Vicky delivered one of her best performances of the tournament, carding an impressive 76 gross to claim second place.
Her precision off the tee and steady putting proved decisive. The final leg, on August 9 at the scenic Nyali Golf and Country Club, saw her maintain her form with a 78 gross, once again securing second place.
“The Coastal Open was a great experience for me,” Elias reflected. “Playing three different courses in three days requires adaptability and mental focus. I’m proud of how I managed my game and I’m motivated to keep improving.”
She praised the tournament’s organization and competitive field, adding: “The courses were in great condition, but the weather and coastal winds made it a real test of skill and patience. I enjoyed every moment and learned a lot from the experience.”
