  • Gamondi has lauded the intense competition within his squad, which has spurred players to strive for excellence amidst ongoing interest in Maxi Nzengeli from Kaizer Chiefs.

Dar es Salaam. Yanga's head coach, Miguel Gamondi, has quashed speculation surrounding Maxi Nzengeli's potential move to Kaizer Chiefs, asserting that no players will depart the squad.

Gamondi highlighted the fierce competition within the team following their recent clash against TS Galaxy which Yanga won by one goal to nil.

Earlier reports suggested that Kaizer Chiefs of South Africa had shown interest in Nzengeli, despite his existing contract with Yanga.

But in an interview with this paper, Gamondi confirmed that there are currently no plans to sell any players, citing finalized preparations for the upcoming season.

"We will not allow any player to leave at this time. The only exception would be due to injury, not for a transfer," stated Gamondi, underscoring the team's readiness for both local and international competitions in the upcoming season.

"Our squad selection was made with clear goals in mind. Despite numerous offers for our star players, we have resisted their departure and instead focused on retaining them to ensure our plans for the upcoming season remain intact," Gamondi added.

The coach's firm stance assures Yanga supporters amidst ongoing transfer rumors, emphasizing stability and commitment ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, Gamondi has lauded the intense competition within his squad, which has spurred players to strive for excellence amidst ongoing interest in Maxi Nzengeli from Kaizer Chiefs.

"The competition for places in my squad is something I am delighted about because it has motivated players to give their all and fight for opportunities. These qualities are crucial for players aiming to achieve our team's current goals," said the Argentine coach.

Maxi, who impressed last season in the Premier League with 11 goals, has showcased his versatility as both a winger and defender, renowned for his defensive skills, attacking prowess, and scoring ability.

His contributions have significantly elevated his value within the squad and drawn attention from clubs like Kaizer Chiefs.
