Dar es Salaam. After suffering a 2-1 defeat to FC Augsburg, Young Africans (Yanga) will test their players again today, July 24, 2024 against South Africa’s top-flight side, TS Galaxy.

The match, which will take place at the Mbombela Stadium, is scheduled to start at 4pm East African time.
It is another build-up match for the Jangwani Street giants ahead of the new season leagues.

Yanga, who boast 12 foreign stars, are going into match with the bitter memory of losing the first game against the Bundesliga side, FC Augsburg, despite showing a good performance.

Yanga head coach Miguel Gamondi, said no match will be easy for them, even though he is aiming for victory.

Gamondi emphasized that he respects all opponents and focuses not only on the result, but also on the improvement of his players.

"It going to be a tough match, and my players are in good form, ready to face any opponent. It is a build-up that will help me to assess their improvement after a short period of training," he said.

The Argentinian tactician expressed his satisfaction with the opportunity to prepare by playing competitive matches, acknowledging it as a good start for them before defending their titles.
He stressed that discipline and hard work from the players will help build a strong and formidable squad.

Yanga's manager, Walter Harson, speaking about the players, said everyone of them is in good shape except for Chadrack Boka, who suffered a hip injury and is being attended to by the doctors.

"Boka is currently doing light training due to a slight hip injury, and the doctors are working hard to ensure he returns to the field quickly,"

he said, adding, "All the other players are fine and continuing with regular training to stay fit for today’s game,” he said.
