Third placed Azam FC play Geita Gold FC tomorrow at the Azam Complex in Dar es Salaam at 8 p.m.
Another match for tomorrow will be at 6pm between Kagera Sugar and Mashujaa FC at the Kaitaba Stadium in Kagera.
Today’s match was a see-saw affair, with both teams attacking each other fiercely.
Simba's players created various clear scoring chances, but they either shot wide or delayed to shoot to allow JKT Tanzania players to clear dangerous balls away.
JKT Tanzania’s Ismail Azizi, alias Kader, is the player to blame after he failed to score in the 67th minute by shooting direct to Simba’s goalkeeper, Ayoub Lakred.
Simba also had a chance to score the second goal, but new signing Michael Fred failed to score after he delayed to shoot, to allow JKT Tanzania defenders to clear the ball away.
Simba assistant coach Dani Cadena lauded his players for the victory in the encounter.
Cadena said they created many scoring chances but they failed to convert them into goals.
“We played against a tough team in the encounter. However, our players did well and emerged victorious. Our players deserve compliments as we are still searching for the top seat,” said Cadena.
JKT Tanzania head coach Malale Hamsini said they made mistakes that allowed Simba to score the lone goal in the encounter.
“Simba created three chances and utilized one. Even though we created more chances, we did not use them,” said Hamsini.
