Dar es Salaam. After recent speculation about his future, Yanga’s head coach, Miguel Gamondi, made a return to the team’s training session yesterday, spending an hour and 45 minutes with the squad.

Following a 3-1 defeat to Tabora United, Yanga resumed training on Monday at the Gymkhana grounds in Dar es Salaam, with Gamondi and his assistants leading the session.

Players began arriving from 11:00 a.m., with goalkeeper Khomen Khamis and Aziz Andambwile among the first to appear. They were followed by Maxi Nzengeli, Salum Abubakar "Sure Boy," Aboutwalib Mshery, Shekhan Khamis, Pacome Zouzoua, Attohoula Yao, Nickson Kibabage, Jonas Mkude, Jean Baleke, and finally Farid Mussa.

Gamondi arrived quietly at 11:49 a.m., wearing a gray Yanga-branded outfit and a cap that partially hid his face. He went directly to the gym, acknowledging a few fans with a brief wave but without any conversation.

His arrival prompted the remaining players waiting outside to join him as the training officially commenced.

Notably missing from the session were a few players who haven’t been called up for national team duty, including Stephane Aziz Ki, Kibwana Shomari, Denis Nkane and Bakari Mwamnyeto.

After an hour, players began leaving the gym individually, choosing not to comment on the session. Fitness coach Taibi Lagrouni and Gamondi remained for an additional 30 minutes, after which Taibi exited.

Gamondi stayed behind another 15 minutes, then also left without addressing the media. When approached, he simply said, “No comment… no comment. Please respect my decision not to speak.”

Gamondi walked about 500 meters from the Gymkhana grounds to a nearby building near Aga Khan Hospital, where he entered and closed the gate behind him.

Yanga’s spokesman, Ally Kamwe, responded to the coach’s appearance by saying, “You’ve seen Gamondi, right? You said he had left.” Kamwe added that the training is part of Yanga’s preparations for the CAF Champions League before leaving the grounds before the end of the session.
