Five Tanzania lady golfers to compete in Kenya’s Coastal Open

Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s five lady golfers are expected to compete in the Coastal Ladies Open scheduled from August 5 to 10 in Mombasa, Kenya.

The golfers par include Yasmin Chali, Shazirati Myombe, Neema Olomi, Loveness Frank, and Vicky Elias.

The Coastal Ladies Open is expected to competitive as golfers will be vying for top honours in five events.

The tournament tees off on August 5 in Malindi, where the golfers will compete in the 18-hole stroke play event.

On August 6, the competition will continue in Vipingo with another 18-hole stroke play.

Following a brief break, the golfers will head to Diamonds Leisure on August 8 for yet another 18-hole stroke play event.

The action then moves to Mombasa on August 9, where they will again compete in an 18-hole stroke play.

The grand finale will take place on August 10 in Nyali, with the golfers facing a challenging 36-hole stroke play event to determine the overall champion.

Tanzania Ladies Golf Union (TLGU) competition secretary-general Rehema Athuman shared insights into the team’s preparations.

She noted that the golfers are currently undergoing intensive training to ensure they are at their peak performance for the event.

“All the golfers are in their final preparations for the event that will feature some of the top female golfers from across East Africa and the continent.

We are hopeful that they will do their best and make the country proud,” said Rehema.

She stressed that Tanzanian lady golfers have consistently performed well in international events, expressing her confidence in the five envoys to uphold this tradition of excellence.

“Basically, we have some of the best female golfers who have made us proud internationally.

TLGU is proud of their achievements, and we encourage them to maintain this high standard while competing at the Coastal Ladies Open,” she stressed.
