French School swimmers win Justfit Inter-School Games title

Dar es Salaam. The French School has emerged as the overall winner of the swimming category in the ongoing Justfit Inter-School Games, outshining 20 other schools at the Dar es Salaam Gymkhana Club swimming pool in Dar es Salaam.
According to the results released yesterday, the French School stole the spotlight with an impressive haul of 95 medals, including 35 gold, 26 silver, and 24 bronze medals.
The results show that Aga Khan Schools were placed second with a total of 32 medals, comprising 15 gold, six silver, and 11 bronze. Dar es Salaam Independent School came third, collecting 21 medals: 12 gold, four silver, and five bronze.
A total of 316 medals were awarded to various swimmers for their outstanding performances. The gala also witnessed swimmers setting 77 new records. A
part from the top three schools, other teams that competed included Al Muntazir Islamic International School, Braeburn Sharks, Dar es Salaam International Academy (DIA), Dar Swim Club, Diligence International School, and Dream Team.
Also on the list were Feza International School, Feza Primary School, FK International Schools, Geita Gold International School, Genesis School, Laureate International School, Malaika Schools, Monti Kids School Tanzania, MSB Educational Institute, Oasis Swim Club, Shamsiye Boys Secondary, and Stepping Stones School. Speaking at the event, JustFit Sports Gear Limited Managing Director Salim Salim expressed his satisfaction with the swimmers’ performances and shared optimism about their future.
“You can see about 77 records have been broken in this event. This shows how we are progressing and gaining prominence. The winners have already received medals, with 37 trophies scheduled to be distributed at a special awards ceremony at the University of Dar es Salaam on Sunday,” said Salim.
He also explained that the JustFit Inter-School Games will culminate in a grand finale next weekend at the University of Dar es Salaam grounds. The event will feature competitions in five sports disciplines: football, basketball, athletics, table tennis, and chess.
“These games have become a source of excitement, offering young athletes a platform to showcase their talents while promoting physical activity and teamwork among students. Initiatives like these are expected to significantly influence the future of sports in Tanzania,” Salim added.
He thanked the generous support of sponsors, including the JustFit Foundation, JustFit Sports Gear, Street Soul, Azam Media Group, and Hugo Domingo. Other sponsors were GardaWorld, Saifee Hospital, Dreamchasers Technologies, Afya Water, DAR FRESH, and Slide Visuals. Their contributions ensured the event’s smooth execution and enhanced its overall impact.

The gala featured 272 registered participants, representing schools from diverse backgrounds. Over 500 guests, including parents, teachers, and students, cheered on the young swimmers. The atmosphere was electric as competitors showcased their skills, determination, and sportsmanship.
