Dar es Salaam. Tanzania’s leading rally driver, Manveer Birdi, reflects on the 2024 season with pride, calling it an “incredible journey” as he inches closer to clinching the National Rally Championship (NRC) title.

Manveer, navigated by Ravi Chana, currently tops the leader board with 81 points and needs just seven more to secure the NRC title officially.

According to the latest standings from the Automobile Association of Tanzania (AAT), he faces strong competition from Gurpal Sandhu and Harinder Deere, who are tied for second place with 53 points each

With only one race left, scheduled for November 16-17 in Arusha, the championship outcome remains uncertain.

“Each race has come with its challenges, but through hard work and strategic planning, Ravi and I have managed to stay ahead, securing the crucial points we need for the championship,” Manveer shared.

The recent Morogoro Rally was a testament to their careful preparation. “Our primary goal there was to finish ahead of our closest competitors, and we managed to achieve that,” he explained.

“This finish allowed us to extend our lead, positioning us strongly for the championship. Every point brings us closer to the ultimate goal of winning both the drivers’ and team titles.”

As they head into the final race in Arusha, Manveer and his team have a clear strategy. “Our objective is simple: finish the race and secure the championship.

With the right mindset, determination, and a little bit of luck, we’re confident that we can end this season on a high and claim both titles for Fuchs Titan.”

He also expressed gratitude for his sponsors’ unwavering support. “I am incredibly thankful for the support we’ve received from Fuchs Titan, Wembley International, ASAS, Mkwawa Leaf, Alistair Group, and Keko Garage.
