Manveer triumphs in thrilling Rally of Iringa Championship

Dar es Salaam. Fuchs Titan rally team driver, Manveer Birdi, emerged victorious in the second edition of the National Rally Championships, which took place in the Iringa Region.
Manveer, along with his navigator, Ravi Chana, completed the challenging course in 1 hour, 44 minutes, and 50 seconds, securing the top position in what was an exhilarating and competitive event.
The rally, which covered approximately 105 kilometres, featured some of the country's top drivers and offered a tough challenge for all participants.
The course, held at the scenic Mt. Huwel Farm, tested the skills and endurance of the drivers as they navigated difficult terrain and dealt with unpredictable weather conditions.
Despite the intensity of the competition, Manveer managed to stay ahead of the pack and take the win.
Speaking after his victory, Manveer expressed his satisfaction with the outcome but acknowledged the level of difficulty the event presented. "It was a very tough event, as every driver came with the goal of winning," said Manveer.
"The competition was fierce, and the course was challenging, but I’m thrilled to have come out on top. It featured some of the most experienced and prominent drivers, which made it even more special to win. My target is now to claim this year's NRC silverware, and this victory is a step in the right direction."
Following closely behind Manveer was another Fuchs Titan Rally team driver, Harinder Deere, who took second place after recording a time of 1 hour, 49 minutes, and 5 seconds.
Deere, navigated by Zubayr Piredina in a Subaru Impreza MY06, finished 4 minutes and 15 seconds behind Manveer. The two teammates dominated the top of the leaderboard, showcasing the strength of the Fuchs Titan Rally team.
In third place was Gurpal Sandhu, navigated by Dave Sihoka of the AESL Racing team. Sandhu, who hails from Arusha, completed the course in 1 hour, 55 minutes, driving a Mitsubishi Evolution 10.
His strong performance kept him in the top three, securing his place among the event’s best competitors.
Fourth place went to the Mkwawa Rally team, with driver Waleed Nahdi and his navigator Awadh Bafadhil clocking 1 hour, 56 minutes, and 49 seconds. The Mkwawa team continued its successful run in the rally, finishing just outside the top three.
Another Mkwawa Rally team driver, the well-known Himid Mbatta, completed the top five alongside his navigator Mohamed Kimenya, with a time of 2 hours, 40 minutes, and 43 seconds. Unfortunately, four drivers were unable to complete the race due to mechanical issues.
These included Charles Bicco and his navigator David Matete of Amapiano Motorsports, Randeep Singh and his navigator Mamneet Singh from the Birdi Rally team.
Also in the list are Ethan Taylor with navigator Karim Munisi of Amapiano Motorsports, and Vishal Patel alongside his navigator Rumeet Nanji from the Vishal Patel team.
Despite their early exits, their participation added to the competitive atmosphere of the rally.
The National Rally Championships continue to showcase the talent and determination of Tanzania's rally drivers, with each event offering thrilling action for motorsport fans.
