  • The event promises to be a thrilling celebration of football, culture and entertainment, drawing thousands of fans to witness the festivities and support their beloved club

Dar es Salaam. Simba Sports Club fans and members are ready for the most anticipated events in Tanzanian football dubbed Simba Day scheduled to take place today at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

The event promises to be a thrilling celebration of football, culture, and entertainment, drawing thousands of fans to witness the festivities and support their beloved club.

The highlight of the day will be the match between Simba SC and Rwandan champions, APR, scheduled for 7pm.

This match is expected to be a competitive and exciting encounter, showcasing the talents of both teams.

However, the excitement starts well before the main event.

The day will feature various curtain-raiser matches, including games involving Simba's U-20 team and the Simba Queens, the women's team.

Adding to the festive atmosphere, the event will be spiced up with performances from renowned artists such as Ali Kiba, Joh Makini, and Chino Kidd.

Their presence will undoubtedly electrify the crowd, making Simba Day not just a sports event but a grand celebration of Tanzanian culture and music.

In a testament to the popularity and significance of Simba Day, almost all tickets for the event have already been sold out.

Fans are eagerly awaiting the celebration, which will also serve as the unveiling of the team's new players and the new squad for the upcoming Tanzania Mainland Premier League, CRDB Federation Cup, and international competitions such as the CAF Confederation Cup.

Simba SC's performance in the past three seasons have been below expectations, with the team failing to win the Mainland Tanzania Premier NBC League title and the CRDB Federation Cup.

In the last season, 2023/2024, Simba managed to secure only the Community Shield.

This has prompted the team's leadership to take significant steps to strengthen the squad for the next league season.

They have recruited several new players, hoping to restore the team's dominance in Tanzanian football and perform well in continental competitions.

The new signings include Karaboue Chamou, Joshua Mutale, Omary Omary, Charles Ahoua, Steven Mukwala, Abdulrazak Hamza, Debora Mavambo, Yusuf Kagoma, Kelvin Kijili, Awesu Awesu, Augustine Okajepha  Valentino Mashaka, and Valentin Nouma.

These players bring a mix of experience and youthful energy to the squad, and fans are excited to see them in action for the first time on Simba Day.
