  • While singing or chanting with the new slogan, Simba fans made Benjamin Mkapa Stadium busy with crowds of people attending the 88th anniversary of the club.

Dar es Salaam. Simba Day has once again demonstrated the passion and dedication of football fans, transforming the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium into a bustling hive of activity.

With the new slogan "Ubaya Ubwela" resonating through the air, fans filled the stadium and its surroundings to celebrate the 88th anniversary of the iconic club.

While singing or chanting with the new slogan, Simba fans made Benjamin Mkapa Stadium busy with crowds of people attending the 88th anniversary of the club.

The stadium was enveloped in an electric atmosphere as fans gathered in large numbers to show their support for the team.

Despite the apparent danger, fans did not worry about the electric poles around Benjamin Mkapa Stadium, with some of them climbing these structures while waiting to get into the stadium.

The long queue caused this risky behavior. "We will stand in the queue until it’s clear; we won’t get tired. This is our activity; whether we sit or stand, we must get inside to see our new Simba players," said one of the fans.

Apart from the massive crowd entering the stadium to witness the day, the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium area turned into a marketplace.

Vendors seized the opportunity to cater to the large crowds, selling a variety of goods and creating a vibrant scene outside the stadium.

Nearby, food vendors, mostly women, set up umbrellas selling meals like rice, bananas, and various drinks.

The sight of these vendors catering to the hungry fans added a community feel to the occasion, making it a memorable experience for all attendees. Currently, if you want any kind of product, you can find it at the stadium.

Many football fans who showed up at Mkapa, with the long queue visible, led to fans breaking the temporary fence that had been set up to ease entry.

The overwhelming number of fans eager to get inside caused some to take matters into their own hands. Fans started flocking in from the morning and are still fighting for a spot to get inside, causing scuffles among themselves. Despite the disruptions, the fans' determination to be part of the celebrations was unwavering.

Despite the fence being broken, fans continued to queue to enter the stadium due to the strict security preventing many from passing through.

The authorities maintained a strong presence to ensure safety and order during the event. Fans who managed to get through the broken fence still couldn’t get inside due to the tight security in place to witness the various celebrations and the introduction of the new season’s squad.

This year’s event was especially significant as it included the presentation of the team's new players for the 2024/25 season.

This special match, meant to introduce the players for the 2024/25 season, is expected to be played at 7pm. The match against APR from Rwanda promises to be an exciting spectacle, showcasing the talent and potential of the new squad.

Simba Day has once again proven to be more than just a football event; it is a cultural celebration that unites fans from all walks of life.

The dedication and enthusiasm displayed by the fans underline the deep connection between the club and its supporters, making it a day to remember for everyone involved.
