  • The two matches are very important to all the four teams to win and improve their chances in the league standings.

Dar es Salaam. The Mainland Tanzania NBC Premier League continues today at two different venues, but the most awaited match is between Singida Fountain Gate FC and Simba, kicking-off at 4pm at the Liti Stadium in Singida.

Another match set for today is between Tanzania Prisons and Mtibwa Sugar, kickingoff at 4pm at the Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.

The two matches are very important to all the four teams to win and improve their chances in the league standings.

Simba are placed at the top with 12 points from four matches while Singida are placed ninth with five points from four matches.

Last season, the two teams recorded a 1-1 draw in the first leg and in the second leg, Simba won 3-1 at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

Simba are likely determined to grab the three points in order to continue dominating the top position and widen the point gap against their bitter rivals Yanga.

Speaking yesterday, Simba head coach Roberto Oliveira alias Robertinho exuded confidence that his team will get all the three points.

“In fact, the Msimbazi Street lads will need the three points in each of their match in order to clinch the title.

“It is not going to be an easy game. Our players are aware of that. We had the best training sessions purposely to record the best results and continue to chase the top position,” he said.

Singida Fountain Gate head coach Thambo Senong said yesterday that his players are unfazed by Simba after undergoing intensive training.

Senong stressed that his players are psyched up to face Simba and grab all the three points.

“We know that it is not going to be a walk in the park. Simba have good players, but my men are determined to record a win tomorrow (today),” he said.

The match between Tanzania Prisons and Mtibwa Sugar is also expected to be competitive, each team targeting the best results.
