Yanga in talks with attacking midfielder Aziz Ki over contract renewal

Dar es Salaam. Young Africans (Yanga) SC have affirmed that ongoing negotiations with their attacking midfielder, Stephane Aziz Ki, are still underway as they strive to secure a new contract with the player.

With Aziz Ki's current contract is to expire at the end of this season, many clubs across the African continent have expressed keen interest in acquiring his services.

Notable among such clubs are Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates of South Africa including Pyramids FC of Egypt.

Despite the swirling rumors and speculations linking Aziz Ki to various clubs, a Yanga official has clarified that so far no official requests have been received by the club regarding the transfer of the player.

It has been said that Aziz Ki himself is inclined to continue playing for Yanga, thus prompting the need for negotiations to finalize a new deal.

"Our negotiations are progressing well. Our intention is to secure a two-year contract, and we are confident of reaching a successful agreement," stated a source within the club.

Further, the source said the club's leadership remains persistent in their commitment to the registration process, assuring that all key players will be retained within the club's ranks.

Aside from Aziz Ki, negotiations are also ongoing with other key players such as Bakari Mwamnyeto, Kibwana Shomari, and Farid Mussa, as well as those whose contracts have less than a year remaining.

As the defending champions of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League, Yanga are reportedly eyeing reinforcements to bolster their squad.

Two Congolese players, Chadrack Boka from FC Lupopo and Agee Basiala from Union Maniema, have been identified as potential targets to enhance the team's strength.

Additionally, the acquisition of Yusuph Kagoma, a holding midfielder formerly with Singida Fountain Gate FC, has reportedly been secured by the Jangwani Street giants.

Another strategic move in the club's plans involves Tanzania Prisons goalkeeper Yona Amos.

As the first-choice goalkeeper of Tanzania Prisons, Amos has demonstrated his prowess with seven clean sheets in the ongoing Tanzania Mainland Premier League.

Yanga aim to secure his services to fortify their defensive line and further solidify their position as a formidable force in Tanzanian football.
