Dar es Salaam. Mainland Premier League defending champions, Young Africans (Yanga), have officially appointed Algerian-French tactician Miloud Hamdi as their new head coach on February 4, 2025.
He replaces Sead Ramovic, who resigned to join Algerian giants CR Belouizdad. Hamdi spent just 37 days at Singida Black Stars without coaching the team in any competitive match.

A seasoned Coach with global experience
Born on June 1, 1971, Hamdi boasts an impressive coaching résumé, having managed multiple clubs across different continents.
His most recent role was at Al-Khalidiya SC (2023-24), and he has previously led top clubs such as JS Kabylie, CS Constantine, and USM Alger.
Throughout his career, Hamdi has showcased his ability to manage high-profile teams, guiding USM Alger to the CAF Champions League final in 2015-16 and leading them to the Algerian Championship title in the same season.
His tactical approach and leadership will be crucial in strengthening Yanga’s ambitions in both the CAF Champions League and the Mainland Premier League.
Education and tactical expertise
Hamdi holds a UEFA A Coaching Licence and a Football Coaching Diploma from the French Football Federation, equipping him with the technical and strategic knowledge required for elite-level football.

Major achievements
Hamdi won Algeria’s Championship (2015-16) with USM Alger and also clinched the French Championnat National title in 2011-12. Additionally, he led USM Alger to the CAF Champions League final in 2015-16.
