  • The summit, organized by Kidpreneur Africa, attracted promising young talents from across the continent and saw five Tanzanian participants excel with their innovative projects.

Dar es Salaam. Two young Tanzanian entrepreneurs, Precious Cuthbert (16), and Immie-Mgeni Gunda (11), have won prestigious awards at the Africa Kidpreneurs Summit 2024, held in Gaborone, Botswana, securing the titles of Kidpreneur Ambassadors for Africa.

The summit, organized by Kidpreneur Africa, attracted promising young talents from across the continent and saw five Tanzanian participants excel with their innovative projects.

The young entrepreneurs, nurtured by Kids Finance With Tracy, an institution dedicated to fostering entrepreneurship among children and youths, plays a crucial role in shaping the young talents.

Through its various programmes, the institution trains over 100 kidpreneurs annually, showcasing their projects with remarkable success.

Precious Cuthbert presented her line of personalized tote bags designed to combat plastic waste and promote environmental sustainability, while Immie-Mgeni Gunda impressed with her unique blend of spices sourced from Zanzibar, highlighting Tanzania’s rich cultural heritage.

“Their outstanding presentations earned them top honours and positioned them as role models for young entrepreneurs across the continent,” said the founder of Kids Finance With Tracy, Tracy Rabi.

Other participants also made significant contributions. Abbriella Kefa (14) introduced a specially formulated hair oil focused on promoting the growth and health of natural African hair.

Raphael Luvena (15) educated the audience on financial literacy with his book, ‘20 Basic Words When Learning About Stock,’ emphasizing the importance of investing from a young age while Whitney Wilbard (10) displayed her talent in the culinary arts, specializing in beautifully crafted cakes and cupcakes.

Ms Rabi expressed her pride: “These children have shown incredible innovation and determination.

Their success at the Africa Kidpreneurs Summit is a testament to the potential that lies within our youth when given the right support and guidance.

We are committed to continuing our work in nurturing the next generation of entrepreneurs,” she said.

She went on to say the success of the five Kidpreneurs at the 2024 summit follows the achievements of previous Tanzanian participants.

In 2023, three Kidpreneurs from Tanzania participated in the Africa Kidpreneurs Summit held in Nairobi, Kenya.

“These summits serve as vital platforms for young entrepreneurs to gain exposure, learn from peers, and expand their entrepreneurial ambitions,” she added.
